In this way, the magistrate accedes to the request of the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard in this regard, legal sources have told Efe.
The UCO of the Civil Guard had asked the National Court judge investigating the Leire Díez case to request from different banks the movements that have occurred in PSOE accounts from 2024 to the present.
In an official letter, to which Europa Press has had access, the UCO asked Judge Santiago Pedraz to demand from the entities “all information, movements and balances held in their databases related to the bank accounts.”
It also advocates for requesting banking information from several investigated individuals, such as former Andalusian leader Gaspar Zarrías and lawyers Ismael Oliver and Jacobo Teijelo.
To “expedite” the investigation, the agents are interested in the banking information being sent by the financial entities directly to the investigating agents themselves.
Likewise, they want “authorization for the Civil Guard agents acting in this investigation to request and receive any clarifications, extensions or complementary documentation related to said products and with any operation carried out originating or ending in the related bank accounts and that they need for the clarification of the facts at hand.”
And they also ask the judge to request from the Tax Agency a “supply report” with information it has, from the years 2024 and 2025, about the PSOE, the PSC and individuals investigated in the case.
