The National Police arrested this Saturday in Madrid an 85-year-old Spanish man for his alleged involvement in the violent death of his former daughter-in-law, a 47-year-old Asian woman who was found dead inside a house on Ferrocarril Street, in the Arganzuela district of Madrid.

Initial investigations suggest that the victim was strangled with a belt allegedly by the detainee. Investigators are now trying to clarify the circumstances surrounding the crime and the prior conflict between both. According to early information, behind the incident there could be a conflict related to the woman’s stay in the house and the alleged murderer wanted to evict her.
The events occurred around 11:10 a.m. this morning, when the CIMACC 091 Room received a call after a relative reported that he had received a call from his father in which he stated that he had committed “a serious act” and was waiting for the Police to arrive.
Officers from the Citizen Attention Group (GAC) of the National Police, Municipal Police officers, and health services immediately went to the residence.

Once inside the house, the officers found a woman lying on the floor of one of the rooms, unconscious and without vital signs. The victim showed signs of violence. The medical personnel who arrived at the scene could only confirm her death, according to 112.

The officers then proceeded to arrest the man, 85 years old and the victim’s former father-in-law, for his alleged involvement in the death.
Specialists from the Violent Crimes Group of the Provincial Scientific Police Brigade went to the scene to carry out the corresponding on-site inspection and collect possible evidence.
The National Police Homicide Group VI has taken charge of the investigation to clarify what happened and determine the exact circumstances of the death.
