The Civil Guard intercepted this Wednesday in international waters, off Cabo Cope, in the municipality of Águilas, a boat with two engines and 20 gasoline jugs on board and arrested its two skippers. The operation was carried out after a chase in international waters and involved a large deployment by land, sea, and air, according to the Government Delegation in the Region of Murcia.

During the operation, Civil Guard agents participating in the chase of the involved boat were injured, confirmed sources from the Armed Institute.
The Government Delegate, Francisco Lucas, highlighted the coordination of the different units of the Civil Guard and the Maritime Service, which allowed the operation to conclude with the arrest of the two skippers. “The work and monitoring of the members of these mafias is continuous”, said Lucas, who thanked and congratulated the Civil Guard and Maritime Service agents for their intervention.
These two arrests add to those made last Monday in Cartagena, when agents from the Civil Guard Maritime Service intercepted another boat 12 miles southeast of Monte Cenizas and arrested two other people.
