Gonzalo Sanz, chief of staff to the Government delegate, is the first official to take responsibility in the Ceuta crisis. After Miguel Ángel Pérez Triano claimed that he did not relay the messages and the phone call that Sanz had with a member of the CNI on July 29, a day before the mass entry, where an assault was warned about, this official has communicated his “resignation” due to the “evident incompatibility” between his version that he did relay the information and what Triano maintained, who denied having knowledge.
In the communication of his resignation, sent this Thursday via an email accessed by EL MUNDO, Sanz stated that the information sent to him by the CNI “was transmitted by me to the delegate himself that same day and the various statements by the delegate in different media in which he claims not to have received information from me.”
