“Meeting with P. S.”. This is one of the annotations found in an agenda of Leire Díez seized by the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard and to which EL MUNDO has had access. The well-known plumber of the PSOE, indicted in the National Court case investigating alleged maneuvers carried out to deactivate judicial cases affecting the socialists, the Government, and the family of Pedro Sánchez, wrote down her roadmap within the framework of the criminal plot. Thus, her notebook contains innumerable references to political officials, judges, and investigators.
Beyond the allusion to a “meeting with P. S.”, which appears just before an annotation with the date “19/2/2025”, Díez’s agenda also contains references to the “president”: “UCO has all the WhatsApp messages between the president and Ábalos,” the former socialist militant wrote on one occasion, dated January 27, 2025. Later in the agenda, Díez also noted: “Pedro doesn’t trust the DAO. He lights a candle to Satan and another to Jesus Christ.”
The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, denied this Friday having any knowledge of the movements directed by Díez and Santos Cerdán, his former right-hand man in the party, to deactivate the corruption investigations surrounding the socialists.
However, in conversations seized by the UCO, the plumber indicated that some of the operations she was carrying out were important for Cerdán “by order of the One.” In fact, in its reports, the Civil Guard states that Díez, with ‘the One’, was referring in code to the “President of the Government.” “The reference to ‘the One’ is considered to only be able to refer to the President of the Government and Secretary General of the Party,” the UCO highlighted.

For its part, Moncloa alleges that it proves nothing that Díez used the president’s name, but now for the first time, a mention of a “meeting with P. S.” appears.
The seized agenda includes references to numerous political officials, as well as investigators. This is the case of Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Balas, head of the UCO’s Economic Investigation Department. “Antonio Balas, dangerous,” wrote the alleged socialist plumber. Balas, as head of this Civil Guard unit, was one of the plot’s targets, as deduced from an audio between Díez and an indicted agent in which she inquired about information on Balas. “What ideological affiliation does [Balas] have?” she asked.
Regarding the alleged intention of the plot to deactivate investigations into the PSOE and Government’s circle, Díez’s agenda also leaves another relevant annotation: “DGP [can be understood as a reference to the General Directorate of Police] will investigate the UCO.” It should be noted at this point that, for the Civil Guard’s investigative unit, the PSOE’s sewer was “directed” by Cerdán and Leire Díez to “protect the interests of the President of the Government,” and the former socialist Organization Secretary “would have made the party’s own structure available to the criminal structure.”
