The PSOE has shown itself to be “absolutely calm” in the face of the investigation by the National Court into a fictitious contract of 15 million euros allegedly linked to its accounting, as EL MUNDO has exclusively reported. From the Ferraz leadership, they have rushed to insist this Monday that “there is no illegal financing whatsoever” in the party after businessman Víctor de Aldama declared that he also delivered a significant amount of cash to Koldo García to cover the expenses of the party and the Socialist International at the request of the former advisor to José Luis Ábalos.
“Our accounts are audited and have been examined by the Court of Auditors. Furthermore, the absence of illegal financing was also demonstrated in the forensic audit report commissioned by the PSOE. We have provided the Justice system with all the documentation requested and will continue to collaborate with absolute transparency,” they emphasize.
Regarding this newspaper’s exclusive, the socialist leadership assures that they have no knowledge of “what Víctor de Aldama may have declared in a file that remains secret” and regret that “it is difficult to defend oneself against accusations” they do not know and that “reach the headlines before the parties.” In any case, they point out that the party “has nothing to do with the contract referred to in the published information.”
The mentioned document was provided by the businessman – sentenced to four and a half years in prison in the Mask Case – in the secret file in which Judge Ismael Moreno traces the accounts of the party led by Pedro Sánchez and is being analyzed by the instructor and the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. These funds came, according to his testimony, from an initial advance payment from the Venezuelan state oil company that was channeled through an international network of companies and simulated contracts.
