The Government welcomes the decision of the EU Court which concludes that the Amnesty Law does not conflict with community regulations and paves the way for the return of Carles Puigdemont. But at La Moncloa they are aware that even if in the coming months the Constitutional Court upholds the pending appeals, the Supreme Court, which ruled that pardon could not be applied for embezzlement, may file a new preliminary ruling that again paralyzes the situation of the former president for months. That is why Félix Bolaños, Minister of Justice, sends a message to the High Court: “The horizon is clear for the full application of the law. It would be positive for everyone if this stage were completed as soon as possible.
