Aisha, the 30-year-old woman who had been hospitalized in critical condition since February 2 after being brutally attacked in her home in Sevilla la Nueva (Madrid), has died after more than five months of fighting for her life at La Paz Hospital. The State Secretariat for Equality and the Eradication of Violence against Women confirmed this Saturday that this is a new gender-based crime, the third recorded in the Community of Madrid so far in 2026.

The victim had managed to survive numerous surgical interventions resulting from the very severe burns covering nearly 50% of her body. However, complications and infections associated with these types of injuries ultimately ended her life.
The Civil Guard investigation holds that the attack was carefully planned by her ex-partner, Ibrahim B., who allegedly hired two of his workers to kill her. All three remain in provisional custody. The two material perpetrators were arrested a few weeks after the events and, according to the investigations, were employees of companies linked to the victim’s ex-husband.
The events occurred in the early hours of February 2. The attackers entered the family home using keys that, allegedly, had been provided to them by the suspect himself. With their faces covered, they brutally beat the woman, doused her with a flammable liquid, and set her on fire while she was holding her six-month-old baby. The child was unharmed, although the risk to his life initially led the court to investigate the events as a double attempted murder.
After carrying out the attack, the two men fled in a vehicle owned by the ex-husband, an element that from the outset reinforced suspicions about his direct involvement in planning the crime.
But the attempt to end Aisha’s life did not begin that night. The judicial file outlines a criminal plan sustained over time. Months earlier, the victim had told those around her that her husband had tried to poison her. Her brother even provided investigators with a video in which the accused is allegedly seen tampering with a drink containing a suspicious substance.
The judicial documents also reveal that the main suspect expressed his intention to finish off the victim while she was hospitalized in the Major Burns Unit at La Paz Hospital, where she had been admitted since the attack under police protection and subjected to multiple surgical interventions.
Investigators believe that the motive for the crime was related to the victim’s decision to separate from her husband after discovering an infidelity. From that moment on, according to the investigations, attempts to end her life began.
Aisha never reported her ex-partner and was not registered in the VioGen System, the state mechanism for monitoring and protecting victims of gender-based violence. The alleged mastermind of the crime also had no prior record for crimes related to violence against women. They had three children in common.
With the confirmation of her death, the judicial case will likely be modified to investigate the events as a completed murder due to gender-based violence.
