The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, announced this Monday an urgent plan of housing measures worth 30 million euros for those affected by the fire in the western mountain range of the region.
At the Navalcarnero command post, Díaz Ayuso explained that the plan will enable the temporary allocation of housing for those who have lost their usual residence; direct aid of up to 100% of the rent and financial support for the repair and reconstruction of affected homes.
The first of these actions will offer an immediate housing solution to people who cannot return to their homes. For this, the regional government will make available properties from the Social Housing Agency (AVS), through the emergency social allocation procedure provided for extraordinary situations.
Likewise, a line of direct aid that can cover up to 100% of the rent will be enabled for households that have become temporarily uninhabitable due to the damage caused by the fire.
Alongside these immediate actions, the plan includes a third line aimed at accelerating the recovery of the damaged areas, with direct aid to carry out the repair and reconstruction of properties affected by the fires.
Owners of their usual residence and tenants whose usual home has been affected may benefit from this measure. The aid will also extend to those who have rented these properties as the habitual residence of their tenants.
The Madrid president also announced the launch of a free legal advice service for people affected by the fires in the region. Professionals will offer guidance and support in processing these types of procedures arising from the emergency situation.

This support will be channeled through the Legal Orientation Services (SOJ) of the Community of Madrid, managed by the Illustrious Bar Association of Madrid (ICAM), located in the judicial districts of San Lorenzo de El Escorial and Navalcarnero due to their proximity to the affected areas, to provide a swift and quick response to legal inquiries arising from the fires.
A total of twelve lawyers are already available to provide this specialized service, which extends its usual hours and will be available Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 14:00 hours.
These professionals will offer information and advice on claims for damage to homes, properties, and other assets, processing public aid and compensation, insurance management, as well as regarding administrative or judicial procedures that may arise from the damage caused. Interested persons may contact the SOJ of Navalcarnero, located at Ronda de San Juan, 32-A or that of San Lorenzo de El Escorial, located at Calle Las Pozas, 145.
The regional government has also enabled two toll-free phone numbers, which will be attended from 09:00 to 14:00 hours through the following numbers: 900909220 (San Lorenzo de El Escorial) and 900909224 (Navalcarnero).
Díaz Ayuso also announced the extension of the automatic renewal of job applications until September 15 for those affected by the fire to avoid unnecessary travel. She also highlighted the launch of a special line of guarantees, through Avalmadrid, aimed at companies and self-employed workers affected by the forest fires in the western mountain range.
