The president of the PP has accused the Government of “disregarding all the reports that warned of territorial unprotection and the security of the nation in Ceuta,” with “dramatic consequences of deaths and invasion,” and has asked himself “what kind of mind allows the president of the Government to consent to it.”
“The operation came from Morocco, was consented by Morocco, and everything seems to indicate that it was also coordinated by Morocco,” he maintained, reiterating that “the judicial responsibilities of the Government will not go unpunished because the PP will not stop defending the dignity of Spain and Spaniards.”
In that sense, he has called on citizens to mobilize this afternoon for Ceuta and has announced that today “a united, supportive nation willing to support a suffering people will be seen.”
“It is evident that the Government, starting with Pedro Sánchez, is not in a position to protect the security of the nation. We are talking about the most important obligation of any president. The only way out is to call elections and return the voice to the people,” he emphasized, since “the Government has lied to us and was protecting Morocco more than Spaniards.”
The leader of the PP has demanded that the Government urgently summon the ambassador of Morocco in Spain and has requested that the Spanish ambassador be called for consultations to evaluate the most appropriate measures to take now, after learning the scope of said report.
The report, carried out by the CENIF (National Center for Immigration and Borders), even contains images of Moroccan agents directing the crowd at the border and giving orders to uniformed gendarmes, and presents the events as a carefully planned process aimed at collapsing the Spanish border control system, and in no case the action of “mafias” nor any shadow of “Russia” or “Israel,” as the president, Pedro Sánchez, said.
The news, advanced by El Español, has provoked the reaction of the Minister of the Interior Fernando Grande-Marlaska, who has not yet asked Morocco for explanations, but rather the Director General of the Police, Francisco Pardo Piqueras, who had been sidelined, since the report did not go through him. The minister has demanded to “know since when the National Police had this investigation, essential for the Government to be able to make the appropriate decisions regarding the migratory crisis in Ceuta in the exercise of its constitutional functions.”
The rest of the PP leadership has also demanded Marlaska’s resignation and has attacked the Executive after learning of the report. “If today you knew nothing, the Government must resign because they are incompetent. And if you are trying to put the National Police in the spotlight because it does what a judge asked and is making you look bad, you must resign.” This is how Ester Muñoz, PP spokesperson in Congress, summarized her party’s sentiment.
“Today Marlaska acts surprised with a Police report that warned of the invasion of Ceuta. He denied it for a month and has been exposed,” said the number two of the PP, Miguel Tellado, in a tweet.
And he stressed that the minister “cannot be in charge of the State Security Forces and Corps for one more minute.” “Marlaska must resign for being shameless, incompetent, and a liar,” he insisted.
For Ester Muñoz, this news accentuates the need to gather today in favor of Ceuta: “The Government has not only lied but has decided to defend the country that invaded us. If until yesterday it was important to attend the gathering, today it is urgent that every Spaniard be there.”
For Muñoz, the Government knew that Morocco was behind it, “and consciously and maliciously decided to do nothing, and afterwards they have been permanently protecting the country that decided to invade Spain,” she said in an interview on EsRadio.
For the PP spokesperson, “it is evident that they have something on the Government or its members. It is evident, because otherwise, it is inexplicable.” “And rather than defending Spain despite what they have on them or protecting themselves regarding what they may have on them, Sánchez has decided that his Government protects itself, even if Spain is invaded,” she stressed.
“Relations [with Morocco] must be intelligent, but also firm. What cannot happen is that Spain is permanently blackmailed by Morocco. They have been measuring us for years. What happened in 2026 had precedents; in 2021 we had one. This is not a coincidence,” she insisted.
