This is what the Podemos Political Secretary has conveyed, who will speak tomorrow at an event convened in Madrid by her party, under the slogan ‘Peace, home, work’.
In April last year, Podemos launched Montero as their reference to lead a candidacy for the general elections, extending a hand to other sectors of the left and civil society. A challenge that the former minister took on to revive a “strong” left that is not subordinate to the PSOE. However, the party has not yet defined its alliance policy.
Her party also supported the possibility of an electoral tandem by the ERC spokesperson in Congress Gabriel Rufián, after an event they both attended, although that hypothetical alliance did not materialize and the party made it clear that there will be no convergence with state-level forces.

Now, Montero again shows her intention to lead the alternative left in the upcoming elections in a context where the parties in the government of the minority partner (Movimiento Sumar, IU, Comuns, and Más Madrid) still lack a candidate to head the renewal of their coalition.
Podemos has also launched its primaries to choose candidates for the regional and municipal elections, a process in which the organization’s general secretary, Ione Belarra, will run to head the list for the elections in the Community of Madrid with the aim of once again being a force with representation in the regional parliament.
