Mario Rivas and Carlos Espí were responsible for scoring the goals that gave the win to Jose Mourinho‘s team against a Ferencvaros that managed to reduce the deficit through a goal by Kenan Kodro, son of the Bosnian striker who played for, among others, Real Sociedad, Barça, and Alavés.

The match mainly served to see Bernardo Silva defending the white team’s colors for the first time, although his debut was delayed until the second half, and to see how, right now, much of the offensive build-up goes through the boots of Arda Güler, who has proven to be absolutely essential in the attacking framework of the whites.
The truth is, despite everything, that Real Madrid struggled, but their clear superiority over Ferencvaros on the pitch throughout the entire first half of the match was ultimately rewarded. The young center-back Mario Rivas was responsible for reflecting this on the scoreboard with the 0-1 as regulation time approached halftime. In the second half, Mourinho made changes to bring in Trent, Rüdiger, and Hujsen in defense, give Vinicius Junior his first minutes after his renewal, more playing time to Carlos Espí, and above all, facilitate Bernardo Silva’s debut. The intention seemed clear: to avoid at all costs that his team would fall back into the complacency that cost them dearly in the previous friendly against Fiorentina.
