In an interview on TVE, the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations also avoided clashing with Vivas, unlike the Minister of Health, Mónica García, but did suggest that in “extraordinary situations” like this “citizens want facts.” To which she added: “Grandiloquent statements do not help.”

The spokesperson for the Pedro Sánchez Executive also said that when they see popular leaders visiting Ceuta these days “the question is very clear”: “Do they come to collaborate, to improve the situation, or do they even come to take photos with agitators, to create tension and say high-sounding words and statements against the Government of Spain?” In this sense, she also suggested that there are “guidelines from Génova that complicate” collaboration between administrations and that “this is not the attitude of a state party nor of having a broad vision.”
According to the latest update from the Ministry of the Interior, 2,168 unaccompanied foreign minors who are in the autonomous city have already been registered. Although La Moncloa has not officially provided a concrete estimate of how many adult immigrants also remain there without having been returned to Morocco, they do indicate that the Red Cross is delivering 4,000 food packs daily, which could raise the total figure to more than 6,000 people.
