The National Police is proceeding this morning with the transfer of hundreds of migrants who were sleeping on the streets of Ceuta to a new location made up of several tents with the intention of preventing them from continuing to sleep outdoors.
According to police sources, the transfer has been taking place since early this morning from the Loma Colmenar site to tents that have been set up next to the old Los Rosales prison.
The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations has reported that the “humanitarian operation” to place people in a new temporary resource affects 864 people who were in the vicinity of the bottleneck in Loma Colmenar.
The minister, Elma Saiz, who has been in Ceuta since Thursday, and the functional authority, the Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, have coordinated the operation.
These people have been transferred voluntarily, without incidents, thanks to the work of the State Security Forces and Corps.
The temporary facility is located in the Los Rosales neighborhood, on a plot owned by SEPES, ceded by the Ministry of Housing.

The Ministry is also working to accommodate, as soon as possible, more than 300 women with minors in a new space located on the esplanade of the Sidi Embarek mosque.
With today’s opening, there are around 4,300 places already enabled and, in the coming days, more than 6,000 temporary places will be exceeded, according to the ministry department.
The Government’s goal is to continue working to ensure that people who remain in public spaces can be attended to in suitable temporary facilities, while facilitating the processing of the corresponding files to provide the appropriate response in each case, as legally established.
The displacement of the migrants has caused moments of uncertainty among the group of people who remained in Loma Colmenar waiting to secure a place inside the site located in this area.
The confusion arose because the migrants thought they were going to be transferred to Morocco instead of to a new reception space.
