The Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, will finally not appear in the Senate regarding the Ceuta migration crisis on August 18, as requested by the Upper House at the request of the People’s Party, and has postponed it until after the summer, during the ordinary session period.

Through a letter sent by the minister to the president of the Senate, Pedro Rollán, Robles has requested to delay her intervention in order to be “precise and thorough” in her appearance to provide explanations about the massive arrival of foreigners in irregular situations to Ceuta

The PP took for granted that the Minister would appear after Robles, through another letter to the president of the Upper House, showed her “full willingness” to do so, but not on the initially set date due to scheduling reasons.

Robles’ statement is relevant given that the Interior Minister assured after the avalanche that there was no “report or warning” that reached “the highest levels” that it could happen.
