Iran again attacked US bases in Jordan and Bahrain between Tuesday night and Wednesday in retaliation for previous bombings launched by Washington over the Persian country, according to the Revolutionary Guard.
The first attack targeted Camp Titin, a US Marine Corps base in Jordan, with heavy ballistic missiles.
Subsequently, Iran also attacked the facilities of the US base of Sheikh Isa in Bahrain with drones.
Iran thus retaliates against the US bombings received this Tuesday, the second attack in less than 48 hours after a month without cross-aggressions becoming public.
Washington said it attacked “targets of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps,” without specifying which, while the elite corps assured that the bombings hit a residential house in Sirik, near the Strait of Hormuz, leaving several dead, without specifying how many, and at least 50 injured.
The Jordanian Army stated in a communiqué that ten of the Iranian missiles were intercepted, while three others hit areas “far from populated centers” without causing casualties.
The US justified its attack today to counter Iran’s “attempts of aggression” “against commercial maritime transport in the Strait of Hormuz and against US military service members deployed in the region.”
The first aggression, which took place last Sunday, targeted the Iranian island of Larak, from where Tehran was preparing to launch rockets loaded with naval mines into the Strait of Hormuz, according to Washington, in an attack in which two people died.
