The US forces launched attacks this Tuesday against Iran’s Revolutionary Guard in response to attempted attacks on commercial ships and US forces, reports the US military. Iranian state media have claimed that four projectiles hit cities east of Hormuz, and the country’s state television reported that an airport in Kerman province was targeted in one of the attacks.
The attacks—which began at 12:00—occurred after “recent attempts of aggression by (the Guard) against commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and against US military deployed in the region,” said the US Central Command on X.
After the attacks, the Revolutionary Guard of Iran assured it will harshly punish the United States. “A harsh punishment awaits the aggressors, the US will regret the new attacks,” said the Revolutionary Guard spokesperson on X.
This is the second time the United States bombs targets in Iran in one week. Specifically, they hit Larak Island, in the Strait of Hormuz.
