Sunday of shouting, fights, and a lot of tension in Puente de Vallecas. With the sun almost setting, around 8:30 p.m., two family clans began insulting and threatening each other on Puerto Alto street. A scene that quickly escalated to the next level: a brawl with physical assaults and bladed weapons between both clans.

The outcome has been dramatic. A woman died after receiving a stab wound to the lung. Three other people were injured, two of them seriously, in an episode of violence that forced a large police deployment in the area.
The alleged perpetrator of the fatal stabbing would be, according to police sources, a 65-year-old woman, already arrested – along with three other individuals – by the National Police on Ramón Calabuig street. The arrested woman had a cut on her arm and was treated by the Emergency services at the 12 de Octubre Hospital where she remains under police custody.
The adversary she injured belonged to a rival family. She was taken to Gregorio Marañón Hospital with a bladed weapon wound to the lung. The doctors could not save her life, which caused loud screams and cries in the waiting room of this center.
Besides the fatal victim, the incident has left at least three more people injured, one of them also transferred to Gregorio Marañón.
Given the magnitude of the incident and the nervousness generated between both clans, the National Police deployed the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR) at Gregorio Marañón Hospital to protect the relatives of those involved who have gathered there.
On Puerto Alto street in Vallecas, the scene of the confrontation, the Police Intervention Unit (UIP), the National Police riot unit, has also been deployed due to the high level of tension recorded in the area after what happened.
Scientific Police personnel are working on the ground searching for fingerprints and other evidence, while other officers patrol the area looking for witnesses who can provide more information about how the confrontation started.
