Furthermore, the Government knew about it “because it was warned of it.” Therefore, President Pedro Sánchez will face “political and judicial responsibilities.”
That is the political assessment made by Alberto Núñez Feijóo of the “State crisis” and “national sovereignty” of Ceuta, during the special debate in the Congress of Deputies. “Mr. Sánchez, look at me: you will pay for it. Before Justice and before the polls,” he warned the head of the Executive.
The president of the PP has wielded the evidence published today by EL MUNDO, with two Intelligence reports that warned preventively about the scale of the immigration avalanche that occurred on July 30, with more than 70,000 people entering the autonomous city.
On July 27, military Intelligence alerted of the “very probable” risk of a “massive entry” of immigrants into the autonomous cities. And on the 30th, the Police already warned in an internal note of the “extreme risk” of “collapse”, in an “imminent” manner.
“You knew it and covered it up. You have lied to us all the time,” Feijóo reproached, before criticizing the PSOE for “discrediting the Police reports”. For the opposition leader, the only explanation for this behavior would be a paralyzing fear of Morocco. In that sense, he pointed to the hypothesis that behind all this is the espionage of Sánchez’s mobile with the Pegasus system.
“What was on your phone? Why are you afraid of Morocco? What does Morocco know about you?” he asked, before concluding that “he fears it will affect him personally.” “No personal fear can be placed above the national interest!” he exclaimed. “Spain cannot have a president under blackmail.”

Once again, Feijóo has demanded Sánchez’s resignation and the calling of elections, at a time when “a possible act of hybrid warfare is on the table.” If the Government says that “it was unaware of anything and therefore has no responsibility,” the president must go, he insisted: “If that is the truth, resign for incompetence; and if it is false, resign for complicity”. “If you want to keep vacationing, call elections, but a president has no right to be absent from his duties, especially in a State crisis,” he prodded.
In a speech warmly cheered by his bench, Feijóo maintained that “Ceuta did not suffer a migratory crisis.” “It was an invasion that continues. You said it yourself, it was an attack on Spain’s territorial integrity,” he told Sánchez. But “you ran off to share the soundtrack of your summer. Nero with TikTok, and with a coldness that frightens!” he continued.
Feijóo also criticized “the clandestine summoning” of the Moroccan ambassador, announced this Thursday by Sánchez. “It is another example of Sánchez’s cowardice with Morocco,” PP sources pointed out. “When they summoned the ambassadors of Argentina or Italy, they did not do it secretly,” they countered.
Finally, the leader of the main opposition party stated that the King must travel to Ceuta, and he would accompany him. And he put on the table a decalogue of actions “for urgent application” in the autonomous city.
