A woman died on Wednesday afternoon in a shopping center in Murcia, allegedly stabbed by her partner, who has fled and is being sought by the National Police, sources close to the investigation have confirmed.
According to 112, at around 5:25 p.m. a call alerted the discovery of a 44-year-old woman dead in the back room of a business in the Carrefour Infante shopping center. The worker who found her quickly notified the security forces due to the appearance of a violent death.
The National Police requested medical assistance, but the ambulance doctor who arrived at the scene could only certify the death.
This crime takes place just hours after a civil guard officer was murdered in Llanes (Asturias) by her partner, also a member of this force. Both cases are being investigated as possible new episodes of gender-based violence, and if confirmed, would raise the number of women killed this year to 35, and 1,376 since 2003.
