The southern area of the city of Ávila has recorded several altercations between Thursday afternoon and early Friday morning, which forced the State Security Forces and Corps to deploy a preventive surveillance device throughout the night to guarantee citizen security.

The Government Deputy Delegate in Ávila, Fernando Galeano, explained in statements sent to the media that the interventions involved coordinated personnel from the National Police and the Local Police. Despite the seriousness of the alerts, no injuries have been reported nor formal complaints from those involved.
The first incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Agustín Rodríguez Sahagún Avenue, where patrols intervened in a fight in the public street. The operation resulted in four people identified and the drawing up of an intervention report with no injuries.

Hours later, around 1:30 a.m., a new alert mobilized officers to the same location after receiving reports of possible detonations. At the scene, the security forces dispersed a gathering of people and found shell casings, which have been seized by investigators for subsequent forensic analysis.
After these episodes, the Government Deputy Delegation kept an enhanced operation active in the neighborhood for the rest of the night in order to prevent possible violent outbreaks.
