The former president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has welcomed “any path of dialogue” in a message posted on his social media this Sunday, ahead of a first in-person meeting next week between representatives of the interim government and opposition, backed by Washington.

“We welcome any path of dialogue that helps consolidate peace, coexistence, and the meeting among Venezuelans”, reads the message shared on the Telegram account of the former leader, imprisoned in New York after his capture in a U.S. operation in January to face drug trafficking charges.
